Covenant

Covenant Plan

A Covenant is a legal agreement or promise made between parties regarding using or restricting a property. Covenants are often included in land titles to impose certain obligations or restrictions on the use of the land, such as limitations on building height, restrictions on certain activities, or requirements for maintenance. They can also be used for environmental protection and conservation such as preserving sensitive habitats, mitigating potential environmental impacts, and managing natural resources. These covenants are typically recorded in the land title and binding on subsequent property owners.

Like the easements and right of ways, a covenant plan prepared by a land surveyor is required to specify the extent of the area covered by the covenant.
